Twenty-five years have passed since the debut of the original highly polished, solid cast stainless steel cowl vents and deck plates by Mariner’s Hardware at the 2000 Pacific Sailboat Show in Oakland, California. Today, Buchan Marine is proud to reintroduce these much-requested cowl vents and deck plates, reviving the classic designs created by Scott and his father, Neil Buchan, all those years ago.
In addition to bringing back these iconic ventilation products, we are excited to announce the development of our new line of custom stainless steel windows—precision-built from 316L stainless and tailored to any shape or size. Inspired once again by the encouragement of our loyal customers, builders, and the broader boating community, Buchan Marine is expanding its offerings while honoring the craftsmanship and legacy that started it all.

We are also nearing the release of our stainless steel low-profile deck hatches, offered in both standard and custom sizes and expected to launch in spring or summer 2026. In addition, we are in the design phase for cast stainless rectangular opening portlights in 5" × 12" and 7" × 14".
